The Cupcake Economy

Halloween is steadily getting to be a bigger trend in Australia, and who could resist throwing a Halloween bash! I am so excited and am having a ball planning all kinds of spooky and fun games and treats for the kids.  There are so many inspirational ideas on the net, my favourites are Martha Stewart, How Does She, and the frogprincepaperie.  Here are my invites that hopefully will be going out this weekend with a couple of final touches!

As per last post here are my personalised Pistachio Macaroons with Salted Caramel Filling, made for my beautiful girlfriends 40th.  To personalise them into a gift, I made them into fortune cookies by printing up 40 positive quotes onto vellum paper and wrapping them around the macaroon, securing with food glue at the back.  I was going to make a combo of different macaroons, but live in a small town - no pecan nuts to be found anywhere!!!! OMG the salted caramel is to die for, receipe can be found on www.mytartelette.com.  Following are pictures of my packaging and hand made card.

Today is cooking day, my favourite kind of day!!! and my inspiration in the kitchen is to make a special gift for a gorgeous girlfriend who turns 40 on the weekend.  I found this awesome website that has given me my inspiration to make Pecan Pie Macaroons and Creme Brulee Pistachio Macaroons!!! Oh my mouth is watering just at the thought of them! So a huge thanks to www.mytartelette.com for the inspiration!  I am going to add my own touch in the packaging just to make them personal in my own way...................... Hopefully have one glamorous photo for you tonight!!!!!!!!!!! xxxx

What can I say!!! Me speechless - Hardly! What a fantastic party.  Watching the vivacious Ali create Hollywood at the Country Club for her beautiful husbands 30th Birthday, the effort she put in was amazing to say the least.  I was honoured to be able to make his cake, and to be invited to walk the red carpet and socialise with the rich and famous including Scooby Doo, Bat Woman (Oh how I loved those boots! mental note - will have to work a little bit harder to be donning a pair of those anytime soon!), Buzz Lightyear, Shaggy and the crew, Cat in the Hat, Reece Witherspoon in her ohhh so Pink Outfit! and so many other stylish characters.  Take a sneak peak at some of the Paparazzi shots!
